This wasn't a DUI related Accident but i thought that you would like to see it. This was a car accident that i was in on Aug. 24,00. It was around 5:00 p.m. and my boyfriend and I were on our way home from picking my brother up from work. On our way home, we were passed by a car that slowed down when it got infront of us. My boyfriend decided to pass the car and when he started to go around it ....the car sped up to the point where we were both going 75 mph - 85 mph. My boyfriend finally got around it and hit a dip in the road and lost control of the car. The car ended up hitting a telephone pole at a slight angle and the nose of the car was forced into the ditch. The car was then rolled 2-3 times and ended back up on all tires 165 feet away from the telephone pole. To my understanding, when we hit the telephone pole, it came back down on the car and caved in the roof cutting me in the forehead. I don't remember much after i saw we were headed towards the telephone pole but i was knocked unconious and i had 2 lacerations on my head. My brother and my boyfriend both escaped with minor bumps and bruises. I was sitting in the back seat behind the passanger, my brother was sitting in the passenger seat and my boyfriend was driving. I just thought you would like to see how seat belts can save your life.
