This is Misty Nicole Sutton. Misty was filling out her papers to start college in August 1999, but never got to start. She was killed in a car crash by a drunk driver on Feb. 11,1999. Misty was also going to marry a young man named Jason Wicks but never got the chance. Misty died three days before Jason got to send his letter to her asking her to marry him.

This is Jasper Wayne Burns. He was killed in the same crash as Misty. Jasper was a wonderful young man. Jasper would have graduated in 2000. What a waste of a beautiful life.

Before I start the story, let me introduce you to Misty and Jasper. First you must know a little about these kids to know what a great lose they were. Not to say that everylife is not a great lose , but this will let you understand just how we felt about these two young people and the way everyone actually saw them. Misty, age 18 years old, and Jasper, age 15 years old, were the type people everyone wanted to be around. If you were having a bad day they could change it. They always rooted for the underdog and always scoped out that one person at school that everyone made fun of to befriend because they didnt want anyone to be left out and feel like they didnt have a place in life. To Misty and Jasper, everyone was special in their own way and they wanted to let everyone know that. The world lost two of the most compassionate people that God could have given this world.

This is my story of how Misty and Jasper's life was taken from them by a man who could care less if some one is alive or dead. Tommy Goodin was the driver of this car. Tommy decided he would take Misty and Jasper around town after comsuming a half pint of tequlia. He also decided to take their young lives by doing 72.84 mph on the curvest road in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He only received 30 days for taking their lives.

If you dare, please take a tour with me as I tell you step by step what happened that horrible morning of Feb.11,1999. The day so many lives were changed forever.

The first picture is what was left of the vehicle that Misty and Jasper were in. The crash.

As you look at the next picture, imagine yourself sitting in this seat when it was thrown into a tree. That is where Misty and Jasper were sitting when Tommy's car slammed into the tree Tommy hit. Of course, Tommy was not hurt because Misty and Jasper took the whole impact. Tommy got to walk away while we all walk to the grave yard. Inside the car.

This is a different angle of the car. If you will look closely you will see where a utility pole was hit first before the car crashed into the tree. Note the bumper and how far away it is from the car. The body on the ground is Misty's after she was cut out of the crash. She had already died and that is how her body was left until the coroner got there to pronounce her legally dead. Misty and car.

When you die, your body is taken to the city morgue. It will remain there until someone identifies you and releases you to either the crime lab or the funeral home. Misty first went to the crime lab for an autopsy. After which I could hardly believe it was her. In my opinion they should call it the "butcher shop" It was horrible.....

This is how Misty looked when she was cut out of the car. They placed her on the grown beside the car because Misty was killed instantly when the car crashed. This is how I got to see her in the morgue. Misty was a beautiful young lady! I will never forget that horrible morning when they told me she was dead. Misty 1

This is a close up of Misty. This is another picture that was taken at the scene of the crash. Misty 2.

This is Jasper after being cut from the crash and taken to the hospital. Jasper had so much to live for just as Misty did. This is what his mother got to see when she was called to the hospital and told Jasper had been in a crash but didn't make it.
Susie will live with this picture in her mind forever also. Jasper 1.

This is another view of Jasper after the crash. Please pray for our families each day so as we will gain the strength to go on another day without our babies. Love your babies daily no matter what they do keep them close to you. They could be the next one to die at the hands of a drunk driver........ Jasper 2.

I would like to thank each and everyone of you for taking the time to read the story about Misty and Jasper. Their lives were so very important to us and by you taking the time out to understand our heartaches I know you will pass on their story to someone you love who drinks and drives. My Prayer today is we reach as many as we can to keep our children and loved ones safe from such a horrible sight. God bless you all.....Rebecca Urias and Susie Cross.
